Special Dedications

The Guardian Angel Project is forever dedicated in Eric Schonhoffs memory, however in the unfortunate event that we loose someone who has touched our program or one of the children who have received one of our angels looses their battle with illness, we like to honor them by dedicating that years Guardian Angel Project in their memory.

On this page we have listed each years special honoree and their stories.

It is our prayer that we never have a need for another dedication again!

Jordan Grosclaude - 2005 - Jordan was one of the Guardian Angel Projects first recipients when we made our first annual trip to the Children's Hospital of Iowa in October 2003.

We were saddened to hear that he had lost his battle with Leukemia in August of 2004.

The 2005 Guardian Angel Project was dedicated in his memory. Follow the link through his name above to read his story.

Gretchen Rowlette - 2006 - Gretchen was a volunteer with the Guardian Angel Project since our 2nd year in 2004.

Gretchen was perfect for the Guardian Angel Project in several ways. She was a child cancer survivor, therefore she knew very well what the children who received our angels were going through. Gretchen was also invaluable as a source of information and assistance with ceramics. She had a degree in art and specialized in ceramics. She molded all of our angels for the 2005 program and was supposed to take over as head instructor for the 2006 Guardian Angel Project when she suddenly became ill and passed away only a couple of weeks later.

We are grateful for Gretchen's service to the Guardian Angel Project. Her knowledge of ceramics that she shared with us lives on today in the angels the teens in the Guardian Angel Project create and deliver to suffering children in the hospital.

Follow the link through Gretchen's name to read more about her.
